Born in Georgia, a graduate of the Tbilisi State Ballet Institute and the Royal Ballet School. Principal Dancer of the Royal Ballet (London) and Houston Ballet before that.

Mr. Makhateli is known worldwide and has performed in  Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima, Nagoya), Europe, the United States, Brazil, Cuba, China, Korea, Panama, Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan), Georgia, and the United Kingdom for her Majesty the Queen and the Royal family.

David is a co-founder and Artistic Director of D&D Art Productions and Grand Audition. With the company organized numerous International Ballet Galas and Festivals all over the globe such as: “Meet the Stars”, “Nureyev and Friends”, “La Nuit des Etoiles”, “Stars with Maya Plisetskaya”, “Kremlin Ballet Festival” and others...
 

With his wife Daria, David Organized and directed International Ballet Master Classes for students - in Brussels (Belgium), Panama City (Panama), Tokyo, Osaka (Japan), and Barcelona (Spain). He is also the co-founder and mastermind of the only grand-scale ballet audition platform in the world “Grand Audition”, which helps graduate dancers and young artists to find jobs. In 2015 he was invited to Panama to set and choreograph a new production of “The Nutcracker”.

 

David Makhateli serves as a Guest invited teacher of The Royal Ballet (London, UK), Ballet de l'Opéra National de Bordeaux (France), Dutch National Opera and Ballet, (Amsterdam, Netherlands), Finnish National Ballet (Helsinki, Finland), ABT Studio Company, Paris Opera Ballet (France) and Swedish Royal Ballet.
